#9011 Type II Penetration Gages
The #9011 Type II Penetration Gage is a precision inspection instrument designed to measure recess penetration depth for Type II Frearson cross recess head screws.
Manufactured in compliance with ANSI B107.600 and ASME B18.6.4 / B18.6.5M standards, the 9011 Series provides accurate and repeatable measurement of Frearson cross recess penetration geometry.
The Frearson drive system differs from Phillips and Pozidriv designs and requires dedicated inspection tooling to ensure dimensional conformity.
The 9011 Series verifies:
• Proper recess penetration depth
• Conformance to applicable dimensional standards
• Manufacturing consistency
• Production process control
Unlike plug gages and ring gages, the 9011 Series measures actual recess penetration depth using a dial indicator assembly.
Available recess sizes:
9011-00 – Size 0
9011-01 – Size 1
9011-02 – Size 2
9011-03 – Size 3
9011-04 – Size 4
The 9011 Series is ideal for:
• Marine fastener manufacturers
• Aerospace suppliers
• Automotive production
• Defense applications
• Quality control laboratories
When ordering, specify inch or metric dial indicator.SPC-compatible digital indicators are available.
Gage probes are heat treated, thermally stabilized, and surface treated to provide additional wear resistance and maximize gage life.
Long form calibration certificates provide dimensional verification and traceability to the National Institute of Standards and Technology, NIST.
The 9011 Series delivers precision penetration measurement for Type II Frearson cross recess inspection systems.
