The #2297 6-Lobe EXTRA (TXP) User Driver Bit & Key Gage is a receiving inspection tool designed to verify the dimensional conformity of finished 6-Lobe Extra driver bits, keys, and screwdriver tooling prior to production use.

Engineered for end users, assembly facilities, and quality laboratories, the 2297 Series confirms that supplied TXP driver tooling meets NIQ-813 standards for proper engagement with compliant 6-Lobe Extra fasteners.

Unlike manufacturing driver gages, this inspection gage is intended to validate incoming tooling to ensure correct geometry, proper fit, and acceptance compliance before release to the production floor.

The 2297 Series verifies:

• Driver tip GO condition• Driver tip NO-GO limit condition• Lobe profile conformity• Engagement compatibility with TXP recesses

Each gage is heat treated, thermally stabilized, and surface treated to provide maximum hardness and dimensional stability. All sizes are calibrated to specified tolerances and are traceable to NIST standards.

Ideal for:

• Aerospace assembly facilities• Automotive production plants• Supplier validation programs• ISO-compliant receiving inspection departments• TXP fastener production environments

The 2297 Series ensures driver tooling performs correctly before it contacts production fasteners.

  • 1) Standard References

    2) Inspection Function

    The 2297 Series verifies:

    • Driver tip GO acceptance geometry• Driver tip NO-GO limit condition• Lobe profile conformity• Proper engagement compatibility with compliant TXP recesses

This gage is intended for incoming tooling verification, not driver manufacturing control.

    3) Materials & Construction

    Universal’s 2297 Series gages are:

    • Heat treated for maximum hardness• Thermally stabilized to minimize dimensional shift• Surface treated for enhanced wear resistance• Precision ground to certified tolerance limits

Designed for long-term receiving inspection use.

    4) Certification & Traceability

All gage sizes are calibrated to specified dimensions and tolerances and are traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

    Optional documentation available:

    • Certificate of Conformance• ISO/IEC 17025 Calibration• Serialized identification• Calibration recall tracking
