#2290 6-Lobe EXTRA (TXP) Production GO / NO-GO Gage
The #2290 6-Lobe EXTRA (TXP) Production GO / NO-GO Gage is an external manufacturing inspection tool designed to verify 6-Lobe Extra recess geometry during active production.
Engineered for high-volume manufacturing environments, the 2290 Series provides dual GO and NO-GO verification within a single gage body to confirm proper TXP drive formation and tolerance compliance.
Manufactured in accordance with CIQ-801, 801A, and 801B standards, this gage ensures that recess geometry remains within specified limits throughout the production process.
The 2290 Series verifies:
• GO minimum acceptance geometry• NO-GO maximum limit condition• Lobe profile conformity• Production tolerance compliance
Each gage is heat treated, thermally stabilized, and surface treated to provide maximum hardness and long-term dimensional stability. All sizes are calibrated to specified tolerances and are traceable to NIST standards.
Ideal for:
• TXP fastener manufacturing• Automotive production lines• Aerospace production environments• In-process operator inspection• ISO-compliant quality systems
The 2290 Series provides rapid production floor validation of 6-Lobe Extra recess geometry.

2) Inspection Function
The 2290 Series verifies:
• GO minimum acceptable geometry• NO-GO maximum allowable limit• Lobe profile conformity• Production compliance for TXP recesses
This gage is intended for in-process manufacturing control, not final laboratory inspection.
3) Materials & Construction
Universal’s 2290 Series gages are:
• Heat treated for maximum hardness• Thermally stabilized to reduce dimensional shift• Surface treated for enhanced wear resistance• Precision ground to certified tolerance limits
Designed for repeated use in demanding production environments.
4) Certification & Traceability
All gage sizes are calibrated to specified dimensions and tolerances and are traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
Optional documentation available:
• Certificate of Conformance• ISO/IEC 17025 Calibration• Serialized identification• Calibration recall tracking
