The #2197 6-Lobe (TX) User Driver Bit & Key Gage is a receiving inspection tool designed to verify the dimensional conformity of finished driver bits, keys, and screwdriver tooling prior to production use.

Engineered for end users, assembly facilities, and quality laboratories, the 2197 Series confirms that supplied 6-lobe driver tooling meets TQM-805.4 and TXQ-805.4 standards for proper engagement with compliant hexalobular fasteners.

Unlike manufacturing driver gages, this inspection gage is intended to validate incoming tooling to ensure correct geometry, proper fit, and acceptance compliance before release to the production floor.

The 2197 Series verifies:

• Driver tip geometry• Lobe conformity• GO and NO-GO acceptance limits• Engagement compatibility

Each gage is heat treated, thermally stabilized, and surface treated to provide maximum hardness and long-term dimensional stability. All sizes are calibrated to specified tolerances and are traceable to NIST standards.

Ideal for:

• Assembly facilities• Automotive manufacturing plants• Aerospace production environments• Supplier validation programs• ISO-compliant receiving inspection departments

The 2197 Series ensures driver tooling performs correctly before it contacts production fasteners.

  • 1) Standard References

Configuration: User Driver Bit, Key & Screwdriver Receiving Inspection GageStandard References: TQM-805.4, TXQ-805.4Drive Type: 6-Lobe (TX) / HexalobularCalibration: NIST TraceableSystem Compatibility: ISO 9001 Quality Systems

    2) Inspection Function

    The 2197 Series verifies:

    • Driver tip GO condition• Driver tip NO-GO limit condition• Proper lobe form geometry• Compatibility with compliant TX recesses

This gage is intended for incoming tooling verification, not driver manufacturing control.

    3) Materials & Construction

    Universal’s 2197 Series gages are:

    • Heat treated for maximum hardness• Thermally stabilized to minimize dimensional shift• Surface treated for increased wear resistance• Precision ground to certified dimensional tolerances

Designed for long-term receiving inspection use.

    4) Certification & Traceability

All gage sizes are calibrated to specified dimensions and tolerances and are traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

    Optional documentation available:

    • Certificate of Conformance• ISO/IEC 17025 Calibration• Serialized identification• Calibration recall tracking
